FIVE FOR FRIDAY/It's finally summer!

This has been the craziest week... EVER! Here's my five for Friday.

1. My hubs works for Budweiser. He got tix for the Bud box @ Fenway for the Red Sox last night. Here is my dad and dad-in-law at the game!

2. My birthday is July 4th! Since I will be in NYC from Sunday on, my fam and I celebrated a little early. I leave for Teacher's College for the Reading Institute on Sunday morning! Celebrating my b-day/July 4th in NYC should be fun! :)

3. My last day in room 205 was this week :( And, what I THOUGHT was my last day in 1st grade... read below to find out that situation!

4. OH MY. This is my pile on my moving day! I THOUGHT I was moving to another school in my district to teach K next year. But, I got the surprise of my life on the last day of school when I was told they would be moving me to another school in my district (my dream school!) to teach 1st grade! This is a more stable, more permanent position. I am over the moon excited! :)

5. And finally, the balmy temperatures at 8 am on the last day of school. It was only about 90 at 8 am, but we quickly made it to 94 by 10 am. Hooray for summer vacation!!

WHIRLWIND LAST DAY!

The past 24 hours have been insane. I said goodbye to my class on our last day yesterday knowing that I am moving schools and grades. Having several of these kids for 2 years made it even harder. There were many tears from all of us! We managed to squeeze in some time for a little minute to win it and sign memory books, but overall, it went by way too fast :(

This is a frantic post - short and sweet - and here's why! Yesterday, after I said bye to my kiddos and cried a bit, my principal called me into her office. I mentioned in my last few blog posts that I am moving schools and grades - from first grade back to kindergarten. Well folks, I'm moving to a DIFFERENT school (different from my current school AND the school I was moving to) - and I'm staying in 1st grade! YAY! I am so excited - after my initial shock  - this is the school I have wanted to work at since I began in this district almost 6 years ago.

So that's that! I am all packed, I move tomorrow, and then I am off to NYC to Teacher's College next week! :)

A Chalkboard Style Freebie!

Friends, I have been crazy busy. I'm in the process of moving my whole classroom, doing report cards, portfolios, blah blah blah.... but I am now obsessed with chalkboard decor! So, I've also been creating like crazy! My freebie today is chalkboard themed and (I think) super cute! If you like these chalkboard style 2D shape posters, check out my other chalkboard style products in my TpT store here. I can't wait to print and laminate these and get them up in my new classroom!!! :) My 2D shape poster freebie is below. I hope you like it :)

By the way, the winner of the hand signals and color posters from my post several days ago (sorry, crazy busy!) is comment number 2, Rachel! I just e-mailed you! :)

Five for Friday!

1. These cute memory boks from Erica Bohrer are adorable (and life saving this week!). Many of my kids had me in kindergarten and now in first grade, so we're all having a bit of a hard time with this :(

2. We had our end of the year party today. I created a cute slide show that made us all cry (parents included). We had a popcorn snack and made it a whole hollywood theme :) So glad to have that behind me! I also gave each parent this letter (that made us all cry more).

4. We also tie dyed today. This is what happens when you grab a freshly tie dyed t-shirt without gloves. It still looks like that 5 hours later.

5. This is what my classroom looks like right now. OMG.

I make my big move this Thursday. I am so sad to leave my kids and families :( They made me the most adorable scrap book and all of the kids wrote something sweet to me. So ready for summer, but not ready to leave these kids!!

Chalkboard Craze!

Ever since purchasing the adorable chalkboard alphabet poster from Lyndsey Kuster, I am obsessed with chalkboard! Since I'm moving schools, I'm doing my classroom theme over and I'm incorporating all things chalkboard :) I've been working on some decor to go with the alphabet posters I purchased and I have a couple things completed so far... My posters for my colors and hand signals have been taken down and put up several times thanks to my many moves, so I was definitely in need of some new things! I'm working on a new number line next - my poor kiddos ripped my old one in the process of helping me take tape off!

These guys are up in my TpT shop - click the pictures to check them out! I'd love to give away a set of each to someone! Comment below with your e-mail and I'll have the hubs pick a number :)

Go see Lyndsey's set in TpT! Click the picture - you won't be disappointed!

I can't wait to pick a winner for my mega 100 follower giveaway TOMORROW! Good luck everyone who entered! :)

Gearing up for the end of the year.. A freebie too!

7 more days. I can do it! Today I completed my end of the year gifts for my kids and completed our end of the year slide show. We filmed our "entrance" on the green screen and it looks like the kids are walking the red carpet- so stinkin cute! I wish I could share :( I just purchased these cute chalkboard circles from Erin Bradley  because I am now obsessed with chalkboard! I just bought these cute alphabet posters from Lindsey at A Year of Many Firsts. So cute! Click the pic to go see them on TpT.
Anyway, I bought the chalkboard circles and started making supply labels for next year and table numbers, and decided I couldn't wait to use them and made labels for my bubbles for the kids this year. They are below if you are looking to create class gifts (I know most of you are already out, but maybe you're thinking WAY ahead for next year? ;) )

I also created labels for hand lotions for my room mothers. I've had the same room moms for 2 years now, as I've had both of their girls since kindergarten. It will be sad to see them go :( I hit up the Bath and Body Works sale and got some hand lotions but have not yet assembled their gifts!

Hope you enjoy this freebie. I am off to work on my other 200 things on my end of year to-do list!

By the way, the winner of my mystery reader packet is comment #4 - Suzy Q! I just sent you an e-mail :) Click the picture to see the packet on TpT! I have it on sale until Tuesday for $3!

Five for Friday! (Plus a little giveaway)

So I'm still in school and SUPER jealous of all you peeps on summer vacation. Sigh. Here's my five for Friday!

  1. Let the packing begin!

My room is now half packed and ready to move schools and grades. I'm sad to leave my kids and my friends from work.

2.
Meet my new pals!
My guppies and snails...

...and my millipedes and pill bugs- ick.

We're studying these woodland critters in science. Watching me try to scoop out millipedes wearing two ziplock bags on my hands and using a plastic spoon was comical, I'm sure.

3.
Not the best pic, but our classroom mascot, Skippyjon Jones, went to Disney with a student this week. SO cute! She even had a picture of him on Splash Mountain. Click here to grab my Skippyjon mascot pack :)

4. I have been slowly getting back to creating things for TpT after a little lull. I finished up my mystery reader packet tonight and I am SO excited about it! I didn't do as good of a job this year with mystery reader as I have in years past, so next year, I wanted to be ready!
I'd love to give one of these away tonight! Leave a comment below with your e-mail and I'll pick someone randomly :) Click here to check it out on TpT!

5. Have you entered my 100 follower giveaway?! It's full of these awesome prizes!
